Elizabeth Reaser is an American television, film and stage actor who is best known for her roles in films like The Twilight Saga and series like Greys Anatomy and True Detective. Jessica was selected in the global contest in 2018 to play The role of Talon, the main character, in The Outpost. The producers wanted a clip of Jessica acting and MMA. The producers received a short video the following day of herself sword fighting. Jessica was able to read the script, and was aware that the character would need weapon training. Her first video was recorded lesson with a professional following reading it. Jonathan Glassner said that the stunt team was amazed by how Jessica fared in her first lesson. The Outpost is her first significant part in the US because her earlier films were filmed in Australia. Jessica's mixed martial art and horseback riding ability and athleticism allow her to pull off stunts portraying the tough woman. In Australia she learned muay Thai along with boxing. Jake Stormoen spotted dogs roaming about the location of filming Season 4 while on set. The stray dogs had occupied the entire set. Jessica was the foster mom to two pups.
